PARKING
There is metered parking on Mariposa or Alexandria between Wilshire and 6th. Make sure you read parking signs carefully as some spots are for commercial use only.
You may also park in the Equitable Building parking garage from the entrance on Mariposa. You may park in any “visitor parking” spots – which can be found on levels P2 and P5.
On weekdays, parking is $3 for 15 minutes, but fees will not exceed $18.00. After 5:00pm on weekdays, and all day on weekends, parking is $5.00. If you arrive to the studio before 5:00pm, please see the MDSB admin office to receive a validation.
FINDING OUR STUDIO
If parking in the garage, take the closest elevator to Level P (Plaza). This will take you to the main lobby “Plaza” level. Once on this level, you will change elevators to the eastern-most elevator bank. (You can ask the security desk for directions, if needed)
Press 2 and that will both call the elevator and pre-program it to stop on the 2nd floor. If the elevators are locked, tell the security guard sitting in the lobby that you need to go to the ballet school and he will unlock the elevator for you.
You also have the option of walking up the defunct escalators to the 2nd floor. Once you reach the 2nd floor, you will see signs directing you to MDSB! It might be confusing on your first day, but you’ll get used to it quickly!
You may also access the main building lobby from the street level, if being dropped off, or if parking on the street. Please be aware that on weekends, only one door is open to the lobby – it is the door closest to the security desk.
