Our History & Legacy

Our Story

Founded in 2001 by Marat and Pamela Daukayev, the Marat Daukayev School of Ballet began in the Mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles and quickly became a cornerstone of classical ballet training in the city. The school established its early home within Dance Arts Academy, where it grew and flourished for nearly two decades.

In 2019, following the closure of Dance Arts Academy, Marat and Pamela relocated the school to a more modern and spacious studio in Koreatown, where the Marat Daukayev School of Ballet continues to thrive today.

Since its founding, the school has grown from a small group of dedicated students into one of the largest and most respected ballet schools in Los Angeles. Over the years, more than 2,000 students have trained at MDSB, many of whom have gone on to pursue professional careers in ballet and related fields.
