Adult & Teen Ballet Classes
Marat Daukayev School of Ballet offers open classes for adults throughout the year, allowing dancers and dance enthusiasts the opportunity to study under Mr. Daukayev and MDSB’s esteemed faculty.
While our school primarily serves students ages 3–18, these Adult & Teen Ballet Classes are a dedicated offering for adults and older beginners, creating a welcoming, supportive environment centered on classical ballet and lifelong learning.
Who These Classes Are For
These classes are open to everyone who would like to learn, and are especially well suited for:
- Adults discovering ballet for the first time
- Adults returning to ballet after time away
- Teen students (generally ages 13+) who are new to ballet
- Teens who are too old for our youth beginner levels, which typically serve younger children
Teens interested in starting ballet for the first time are warmly welcomed in our Beginner Adult classes, which provide an age-appropriate, encouraging entry point into ballet with clear, structured instruction.
Class Levels
We offer Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Adult & Teen Ballet classes. All levels are open, and students are welcome to choose the class that best matches their experience and comfort level.
Classes focus on classical ballet technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and artistry. Instruction is thoughtfully paced, making classes accessible for beginners while remaining engaging for more experienced dancers.
Class Fees
Individual classes are $30.00 (as of 5/19/25). You may also purchase class cards. Please be aware of our new class card pricing, effective 5/19/25:
$135.00 for 5-class series
$250.00 for 10-class series
Once you purchase a class card, your purchase is non-refundable, so if you are new to class, we suggest taking a one class for $30 before deciding to purchase a full class card.

Private Ballet Lessons for Adults
Personalized, one-on-one instruction for adult dancers of all levels—perfect for building confidence, preparing for your first class, or refining technique. Learn at your own pace with the support of our experienced faculty.
Whether you’re stepping into the studio for the very first time, returning after time away, or looking to refine your technique, our private ballet coaching offers personalized attention tailored to your goals.
Lessons are scheduled by appointment and can be arranged as a single session or a series.
Current Rates
$165/hr
$150/hr (if you purchase a series of 5 or more)
All private lesson students must have a current credit card on file in the MDSB studio office.

Studio Etiquette
To ensure a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment, we ask all students to observe the following guidelines:
- Arrive on time: Students should come to class prepared and warmed up. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we recommend attending a different session.
- No food or gum: Please bring only water into the studio.
- Phones off: Cell phones must be silenced or turned off. Please refrain from texting or checking phones during class.
- Payment and check-in: Ensure you pay or check-in prior to class. We accept Venmo — our QR code is posted outside the classroom.
- Attire: While there is no strict dress code for Adult & Teen classes, students are expected to wear appropriate dance clothing. Proper ballet shoes are required at all times (no bare feet or street shoes).
