PRE BALLET LEVELS

Creative Movement
Pre Ballet 1 & Pre Ballet 2

Our littlest dancers will begin by learning basic warm-up and stretch exercises in our Pre-Ballet classes, starting with Creative Movement at age 3. Warm-up routines are followed by simple, early ballet movements, taught to fun music in a playful environment.

Children learn to follow instructions and cooperate with others in a group and a small vocabulary of ballet terms is introduced.

Dress Code

Traditional leotards or dance dresses (leos with skirts attached) are acceptable as long as they are the appropriate color for the level. See the table below.

Pink tights and pink ballet shoes are required for all Pre-Ballet levels.

Hair must always be worn up and away from the face and neck (in a bun, if possible) and securely fastened.

Creative Movement dancers may wear pink tutus.

Policies

• Students must have had their 3rd birthday before registering for Creative Movement.
• Students must be potty trained before beginning class.
• Parents will not be allowed in classrooms, so children struggling with separation should wait a bit longer before beginning classes.
  • We ask that parents not leave crying children in the classroom for the teacher to handle. Teachers will be occupied with the duty of teaching a group of other children and will be unable to monitor those not ready to be a part of the group.
• We require parents of those 5 and under to remain in our lobby area for the duration of their child’s class. Teachers and staff are not responsible for taking children to the restrooms
• Students must be on time for class. Teachers reserve the right not to admit a child who is more than 20 minutes late.
